Personal Statement

Megan Kapaun is currently practicing in the areas of Estate Planning, Probate, and Business Transactions.  She went to law school because of her love of the law and her desire to advocate important issues for others.  Her practice focuses on providing the best legal assistance for her clients in their time of need.  Megan knows that estate planning can be a difficult topic for her clients and she approaches each case with compassion and a listening ear.

Megan was born and raised in Anaheim, California.  She moved to Spokane to attend Gonzaga University.  While at Gonzaga, she met her husband on the Mock Trial team.  After graduation, Megan moved to Arlington, Virginia to attend law school at George Mason University.  While in law school, Megan was part of the ATLA Trial team and clerked for the Department of Justice.  She also worked at the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office for the City of Alexandria prosecuting cases with her third-year practice certificate.  Megan passed the Virginia bar exam and became a prosecutor at the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office for the City of Fredericksburg.

Megan and her family moved back to Spokane in 2010 and she took and passed the Washington bar exam.  Megan worked as an associate at Piskel Yahne Kovarik practicing business litigation.  She has also worked for the Washington State Office of Public Defense (OPD) doing criminal appellate defense work.

Outside of the office, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband and three children exploring Spokane and traveling to new places.
